PLAYGROUND AT RACECOURSE
At the suggestion of Lady Hamilton of Dalzell, wife of the senior steward of the English Jockey Club, a children’s playground was provided in the two shilling enclosure at Hamilton Park recently, states an English paper. Under the shade of the trees close upon 50 children enjoyed the swings and were busy digging in a slightly sunken sand-pit. A tea-tent and a mothers’ “resttent” were also provided, and Lady Hamilton expressed herself as well pleased with the patronage accorded the innovation—the first of its kind ,in connection with a racecourse.
