FAMILY WIPED OUT FAMOUS DANCER’S DEATH By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON. Thursday. The death ol 5 the famous dancer, Isadora Duncan, completes a tragic wiping out of the family. A motor-car containing her two children plunged into the Seine in 1913, and both were drowned. Then her husband, the Russian poet Essenin, committed suicide in 1925.
Her most intimate companion, the dancer, Mile. Desty, had a presentiment of tragedy, and begged her not to go out driving in the car.—A. and N.Z.
A cablegram received yesterday read as follows:—The famous da.ncer, Isadora Duncan, came to a tragic end. At Nice she was driving in a motor-car along the Promenade des Anglais, when her long scarf caught in the wheel. She was dragged from her seat into the roadway, and her spinal column was broken. She was taken to hospital, and died.
