WAIKATO HOUNDS

MEET AT OTUMOETAI The second meet of the Waikato Hounds was held at Taurangu yesterday afternoon in beautiful weather. The hunting area was at Otumoetai and the hounds working well started several hares and secured one kill. From a vantage point on Mr. L. Tollemache’s farm the spectators enjoyed an excellent view of the activities during the whole of the afternoon. There were 130 followers on horseback and the jumping was very fine. After the chase? the followers and the spectators, numbering several hundred. were entertained at afternoon te*i at the home of Mr. G. Osborne. On Friday at Gate Pa the final meet will take place.
