Otahuhu Schoolboys and League Rugby

Mr. O. G. Culpan, official reporter of the Auckland Rugby League Primary Schools’ Management Committee, writes:— . "Mr. 11. Murdock, headmaster of the Otahuhu District School, states that the championship table showing the Otahuhu primary schoolboys as winners of the League championship is contrary to fact. I wish to point out that this is not so. All the boys who played in the winning team are primary schoolboys, and, further, they reside in Otahuhu. The fact that only six of the players go to the school of which Mr. Murdock is .headmaster is regrettable, but great pressure has been brought to bear in favour of another code at this school; consequently the boys are not quite free to choose for themselves.” "
