WELLINGTON CANDIDATES PERFORMANCES AT ADDINGTON A FTEiR a lapse of a few weeks, w the trotting pastime will claim attention again on Saturday, when the Wellington Club presents a useful one-day card. Chief attractions are the New Zealand Cup trial and the Bollard Memorial Handicap, but other events for hoppled and unhoppled contestants will provide interesting sport. Form of several competitors at the recent Addington fixture may serve as a good guide in solving problems for Saturday. It is generally admitted that form is one of the best guides for the racing student, and as the opening of the 1927-28 trotting at Addington last month disclosed several horses in good form and winning vein, it is only reasonable to make the deduction that many of these will fill the role of favourites at the Wellington fixture on Saturday. In view of the large amount of interest being taken in the Southern fixture in this province, “Abaydos” produces a summary of the performances of those competitors engaged at Petone, who sported silk last month at Christchurch. Readers will be able to attempt the solution of the various problems set by handicapper Brinkman.
