NEW SCENIC DRIVE

WAITAKERE RANGES ROUTE The formation of a new scenic drive ever the Waitakere Ranges was discussed at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Automobile Association last evening. The metalling of a piece of McElwain’s Road, it was suggested would open up one of the finest drives in the vicinity of the city. The road formed part of a circuit drive from Henderson Valley, via Nihotupu. It also linked two properties owned by the city, as well as providing a short route to the West Coast. A resident of the district, Mr. H. A. Mobbs, wrote pointing out that the men working at the timber-mill were prepared to cart the metal required without payment. The council agreed that the road should be properly formed as early as possible. Local bodies will be urged to see that the work is proceeded with without delay,
