COLLECTING THE CHINESE BIG BATCH NEXT WEEK When Lum Quay was charged at the Police Court to-day with remaining in New Zealand longer than his; temporary permit allowed, the Collector of Customs, Mr. A. V. Penn, said that a big batch of these unwanted Chinese immigrants would be rounded up within a week. “We are not pressing for a penaltj' for those in before the end of the month,” he said. “After that, we will.’ Lum Quay was remanded to enable him to leave New Zealand to-morrow.
