HOSPITAL STORES STOLEN
ATTENDANT’S PETTY THEFTS EX-OFFICER FINED £5 Charles Moorhouse, an attendant at the Auckland eMntal Hospital, pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of stealing stores valued at £4 12s, the property of the New Zealand Government. Chief Detective Cummings said that accused, who was employed as a nightattendant at the hospital, was seen leaving the institution with meat and vegetables this morning. There had been similar petty thieving for some time. “Accused is an ex-army officer, and he has borne a good character up to the present,” said Mr. Cummings. Moorhouse was fined £5 and ordered to make restitution.
