ON THE 'CHANGE

DEMAND FOR COALS WAIHIS FIRM The market opened somewhat quietly this morning, but at the noon call was in better tone and fair business was recorded. Insurance stocks remain firm, although little business has been transacted. Coal shares are firm and in good demand at slightly increased prices. A better feeling exists for Auckland Gas shares, and sales have been made as high as 235. The mining market is quieter, most shares have an easing tendency and few sales have been recorded.
