MOTION TO SPEED UP WORK “NOTORIOUSLY I.ONG-WINDED” “It is a notorious fact that this Presbytery takes such a long time to got through its work/* said the Rev. Lenoard H. Hunt at the meeting of the Auckland Presbytery yesterday when moving that in future they meet in the evening only. At present the presbytery meets at 3 p.m.. adjourns for tea, and then assembles again in the evening. “The more time people are given to do a thing in, the more time they take." continued Mr. Hunt when suggesting that a time-limit should be placed on speeches also. Tie pointed out that as arrangements are at present. the*re l.s never a full representation, .some ministers come) :n the afternoon and others in the evening. The Rev. A. M. Bell seconded Mr. Hunt’s motion. “£ maintain that it is impossible to carry out the presbytery's work in less time than is at present being taken,’' stated the Rev. W. D. Morrison-Suther-land. in opposing the motion- He moved that the sessions be from 3 —Z and from <1.30 to 9. The Rev. George Bud seconded Mr. Sutherland’s amendment, which, on being put to the vote by the Moderator the Rev. Fraser B. Barton, was carried by a big majoritj'.
