the day as master of the Niagara, bound from Auckland to Sydney. Captain Hill is well known on the trans-Pacifie service, as he has been master of several of the Union Steam Ship Company’s vessels on that run. There have been several changes in the Union Company’s fleet. Captain A. C. Showman, master of the Niagara, has been granted holiday leave, and Captain Hill took his place this morning. Captain A. T. Davey, of the Maheno, will come from Wellington to take command of the Marama.
