She has always been weld looked after and I have given her everything she has wanted.” FUS the father of a girl of 22, who appeared before Mr. E. C. Cuttcn, S.M., yesterday afternoon, and pleaded guilty to two charges of theft from a Queen Street establishment. Chief-Detective Cummings said the accused had gone to this shop on May 31 and taken a coat valued at £l4 14s. On July 29 she again visited the establishment and took a hat valued at £5 l»s. She had worn both articles, but when arrested by Detective White abou> 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon was wearing only Ihe hat. She had never been before the court previously and vas a tailcress who had borne a sood reputation. The firm from which the articles were stolen would not accept them back and therefore asked for restitution to the extent of £2l. The father asked for lenient treatment and agreed to make restitution. The magistrate said he thought that “ the accused made restitution and paid \ fine tjiat would meet the case. On the first charge she was convicted and ordered to repay £l4 14s, and on the second she wa,s fined £T» and ordered to repay £6 6s. One week was allowed in which to Pay.
