NEW OUTLET UNDER WAY—This picture shows the commencement of the concrete work—low on the left-hand side—which will carry the road from the Stanley Street bridge to Gladstone Road. This outlet is designed to relieve congestion at the Chief Post Office and in Parnell Road. Traffic will be able to use the waterfront road starting in Quay Street, cross the new bridge over the railway yards, and turn off to the left after crossing the new bridge into Gladstone Road. From the site of the new concrete work the road will pass through the area occupied by the trees on the left of the picture, and join Gladstone Road near the Parnell .Park Tea Kiosk*
