TARIFF PROPOSALS THIS EVENING
BUSINESS FOR HOUSE (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, To-day. The House of Representatives will be c;ngaged in discussion upon departmental reports this afternoon. Among them will be the Education Department’s report, which probably will give members something to talk about. The country is waiting for the Minister of Finance’s tariff proposals, which will be conveyed to the House by resolution this evening. The House will go into committee to discuss these, but it is expected that the general discussion upon them will take place at a later date, and any amsndments agreed to by the House will be embodied in the Customs Amendment Bill, which will make its appearance in a short while. It is probable that the various industries will have representations to make after the tariff proposals become known.
