SOME PROMISING YOUNGSTERS TIKENCE DILLON A GOOD ONE (Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. S. Hawthorne has a big team of pacers in regular work at Kurow. Nan Brent and Wood pointer both look well and are intended for the spring meetings. A real good sort is a bay gelding by Nelson Bingen—Francis Derby. He is a good pacer and claims classic engagements during the coming season. Unfortunately, a severe cold has troubled Hawthorne’s team and consequently its members are backward. HENDERSON’S BIG TEAM J. Henderson has a big team in work Thu older horses all look well and have ftst commenced work again. Several young ones are being tried out by Henderson. A Happy Voyage— Pearl Pointer colt looks a good sort, a fine pacer. A three-year-old My by Nelson Bingen from Terence billon’s dam shows some promise at the pacing gait. She is the property of Mr. P. McCarthy Brentloc looks well, but so far he has failed to stay any further than a Bdle and a-quarter. Final McKinney always runs sound races, but generally finds something Just too good for her. TAKING IT EASY Terence Dillon has had a spell since the National meeting. He went a nice on the concluding day and although. it was a weak field he won very e usily. He will take a high mark this season.
