MAY BE THE BEST
Pretonious, who was the unplaced contestant in the field of four in the last Nev. Zealand Derby, will probably be a starter at the Wellington fixture. He is a son of Nelson B ngen and Cameos (da n of Onyx), and only sported silk twice last season, the first occasion being when he was sent cut favourite at thi EJanks Peninsula fixture in the event won by Bertha Bingen. Some good judges are prepared to see Pretonic when seasoned doinc; better than these who filled the places in the Derby. Sha dowland. the winner, arte Richcre, who finished third not win afterwards, while Rey Logan who got second aria** won only one race during tre season.
