“SPRING CARNIVAL” i The spring carnival held ait the popular Regent Ballroom on Saturday evening was a wonderful success. Numerous novelties were provided and a popular feature was the solo dancing of Miss Betlina Edwards. The ballroom will be open again on Wednesday evening next. "Mons” which is about to be released in New Zealand, is the film story of that immortal retreat, more splendid than any victory. Few. alas, survive Of those who actually fought through It but they and their deeds must hold us still Tills all-British picture is said to be the finest war picture ever produced, and it was hailed by all the leading newspapers throughout the British Isles as a monument and a tribute to those men who bore the brunt of the fighting in the early stages of the war. -
