BODY OF DEAD SURGEON
DISCOVERY IN WOOD FORMER MELBOURNE MAN By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Saturday. The body of a former Melbourne resident, Dr. Oswald Clive Shields, aged 56, who was practising in the West End of London, was found in the woods at Richmond, Surrey, with an artery in the groin severed. A surgical instrument lay near the body. It is stated that Dr Shields had: been overworked for a long time and had refused to take a holiday. He had acted during the war as operating surgeon at Boulogne and at surgery specialist at the hospital at Wimereux. His wife and their five children were spending a holiday with his brother, Sir Douglas Shields, a well-known London surgeon, formerly of Melbourne.—A. and N.Z.
