INSURE WITH THE SOUTH BRITISH
AN AUCKLAND COMPANY. TONGARIRO ERUPTION NATIVES FEARFUL (Special to THE SUN.) NATIONAL PARK, Friday. The recent eruption on Tongariro was clearly seen from Otuku. The natives do not remember seeing an eruption in the vicinity before. Te Mari, which is clearly seen from Otuku, wras comparatively quiet. It is thought that it may have been a renewed activity either of the northern crater or the blue lake. Rumblings have been heard recently at Otuku and the Ketatahi blowhole has been unusuall3 r active, becoming an intermittent geyser and sending up huge columns of water which may he seen from Otuku.
Some of the natives have expressed 'fear and consider it is too dangerous to hathe in the pool in the viciinty of | Ketatahi.
