THAMES GOLD

SPECIMENS ON SHOW NO DOUBT OF VALUE (Bronx Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, To-day. The management of the Occidental Mine announces that gold is still showing freely in the newly-discovered reef, which is now 3ft in width. The specimens of stone obtained from this reef are on show in a Thames shop-window in Pollen Street and are eagerly scanned by the public. One small piece of stone is estimated to be worth about £25. Old miners say they are the best specimens obtained from the Thames mines for many years. The Lucky Shot Mine reef has not been worked since discovered owing to the lack of explosives. To-day further breaking down of the reef will take place. “Gold talk” is the chief topic here.
