FAT CATTLE IN DEMAND Press Association. FEILDING, Friday. There was a moderate yarding of sheep at the Feilding sale to-day, fat ewes and wethers providing the larger proportion of the entry. Store sheep met with good demand at late rates, although hoggets were slightly easier. Fat sheep were in good demand at rates slightly easier than late sales. Prices were:—Fat hoggets, 22s to 36s 4d; fat wethers, small, 245; medium, 34s to 36s 6d; good, 37s 6d to 445; fat ewes, 21s 6d to 34 s; b.f. hoggets, 14s Sd to 17s Sd; wether hoggets, 20s to 24s 6d; ewe hoggets, 24s lOd to 27s 7d; forward four-tooth wethers, 28s to 28s 3d: empty forward ewes, 16s 7d; aged ewes (50 per cent, lambs), 26s 3d. The cattle entry was mainly of dairy stock, and there was a good sale foxselected lines. A small yarding of good quality fat cattle met with a strong demand. A feature of the store cattle was the good entry of yearling Jersey heifers, which made up to £5 ss. No store bullocks were offered. Springing heifers made from £7 to £ll 11s; heifers at profit, £9 ss; springing cows, £6 15s to £10; cows at profit, £8 10s to £11; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 10s to £5 ss; weaner heifers, £1 8s to £1 12s 6d, empty forward cows, £2 17s 6d to £4: fat cows, £5 to £7 10s; fat heifers, £5 10s to £7 10s; light fat bullocks, £5 10s to £7 10s; medium to heavy fat bullocks, £8 10s to £l2.
