INQUEST ADJOURNED (Special i o THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The inquest concerning the death >f Frederick W. Woolley, a bridge inspector, who was run down by the electric railway car at Sockburn on Monday evening, was resumed to-day. The driver of the car, Edward James Bradley, said he noticed a dark object in front of the car. He applied the emergency brake. The object was i motor trolley, which Woolley was endeavouring to take from the line it was nearly clear and Woolley was well clear. When witness went back after the crash he found Woolley lying « n his back across the siding. It was dark and cloudy at the time of the accident. It took him 100 yards to pull up. The car was travelling at 35 miles an hour. The inquest was adjourned sine die to enable particulars cf the braking power cf the car and lighting radius to be obtained from Wellington.
