MOCK WHIPPED CREAM
A cheap and excellent substitute for whipped cream can be made by boiling 1 cup of white sugar and J cup golden syrup in 1 cup water for 10 minutes. Pour this while boiling on to the stifflybeaten white of 1 egg, stirring continually and flavour with vanilla.
