STOLEN FROCKS

PILLAGED FROM CARGO WAS IT DONE IN SYDNEY? / ’ARGO pi lagers evidently* got busy before the Ulimaroa -jailed from Sydney on her last voyage to Auckland. A well-known business firm has d..*--covered that 13 frocks, valued at £7O, are missing from a case of goods which came over on the ship. The case was packed with paptr after the goods had been stolen. Before it was removed from the wharf on Thursday three frooks wore examined by Customs officials to see that the material was the same as that ordered. When the case was again examined by the firm it was found that the frocks had been removed and paper packing put in their place. Captain C. E. Hood, marine surveyor for the Underwriters’ Association, is of the opinion that the theft took place before tLe case was delivered to the shipping company in Sydney.
