“THE KID BROTHER”
TO-NIGHT AT THREE THEATRES Harold Bio yd will be surrounded by his usual capable complement of supporting players in his third Paramount release, “The Kid Brother,” which comes to the Princess, Tivoli anc Everybody’s Theatres to-day. Again heading his support will be Jobyna Ralston, who probably terminates her career as Bloyd’s leading lady with this production, after appearing in a.ll his pictures for the last three years. Miss Ralston will be introduced as the girl with the medicine show, which offers a concentrated source of laughter and drama in “The Kid Brother.” This is one of Jobyna s most fetching roles, and should win her many new admirers. Appearing as Harold’s father is Walter James, who for years appeared on the legitimate stage, and soon after entering motion pictures played Mary Bickford’s father in “Bittle Annie Rooney.” Oiin Francis and Beo Wills, portraying Bloyd’s older brothers, have been featured in numerous pictures. Francis’s most recent work was as the second mate with John Barrymore in “The Sea Beast.” Willis was in many of Bill Hart’s pictures, and is a familiar figure in Hal Roach comedies.
Ralph Yearsle; be forgotten fo: performances n “Tolable David,' “Wild Oranges’ and a number o other offerings. Constantine Romanoff, w h < gives a splendii performance n : t h e medicin* show’s strong man, took to tin part naturally for he is one o America’s fore most wrestler; and a championship contender.
Eddie Boland, ballyhoo artist with the same show, gives a winning portrayal- Nothing new for Eddie, as he has travelled for several years with a medicine show in the same capacity he delineates on the screen. Boland has been featured in comedies, and in former days did a number of pictures with Bloyd. Bouis Wolheim, the original Captain Flagg of the Stallings-Anderson stage play, “What Price Glory,” was reduced to the rank of sergeant in his film role in “Two Arabian Knights,” United Artists’ post-war comedy and again in the part of Sergeant Buck in Herbert Brenon’s picturisation of “Sorrell and Son.” Now that Mr. Wolheim is to play a mere corporal in support of John Barrymore in “Tempest,” it is expected the ex-Cornell University professor will prepare a thesis entitled “Bife Among the Bowly”' or “The Descent of Man.”
