WAIRARAPA BEATEN BY WAIKATO
GOOD GAME AT HAMILTON (From Our Oicn Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Wednesday. Before a large attendance at Rugby Park to-day, Waikato defeated Wairarapa by 14 points to X. Considering the heavy state of the ground, the game was remarkably fast and open. Early in the game the Waikato forwards showed that they were quite capable of holding their own against their formidable rivals. Wairarapa opened the scoring. From a scrum, Hart get the ball away to Fuller, who raced over in the corner. Hart converted with a beautiful kick. A little later, Kemp, of Waikato, intercepted, and passed to Baylv, who scored a fine try which S. Thomas converted. The score was 5 all at halftime. Early in the second half. Ward scored an unconverted try for the visitors. Cooke had to go off with a damaged shoulder, and was replaced by ■ liroti. .V smart bit who scored off a rebound for Waikato, made the scores level again.
