Very Ladylike Fashions For “Miss London”

Evening Skirts to be Longer, Waists Higher HAND-PAINTED HOSE By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 10.52 a.m. LONDON, Monday. " What’s ‘Miss London’ going to be this autumn?” teas a question asked at a secret trade show at Olympia. “Oh, ladylike" replied a dress-de-signer. “And this winter?" "Very ladylike," said the designer. It was revealed that evening skirts will be longer, some having two-yard trains and others deeply fringed. Waists generally will be two inches higher. Sports dresses will be slightly longer and day dresses unchanged. Hats will be quieter, fitting like a skullcap, with inlaid trimmings of brass studs and leather discs of many colours. Mannequins paraded showing new smoking suits, aviation suits and boudoir suits —all with trousers. The latest dress colours include peachstone, musk-pink, Naples yellow, Veronese green. Stockings will be of all shades. Some striking brown hose will have hand-painted pansies on the knees. — Sun.
