PRAISE FOR TOURISTS
A HAPPY COMPANY MODEST AND ABLE LONDON, Sunday. The cricket writer of “The Times” says that the visit of the New Zealanders has compensated for intercounty disappointments. They deserve unstinted thanks for the pleasure they have given. They have been stout-hearted, modest, and able, and under Lowry’s captaincy they have avoided the stupid little frictions which have been incidental to the tours of many teams. The writer says the charm of the New Zealanders lies in their obvious enjoyment of playing. Their early successes did not alter their attitude. They came to England to learn the finer points of the game.—Times.
