Taranaki Oil Fields. —The company reports: The Waiapu No. 2 well is down a depth of 2,215 ft. in grey shale, with an SJin diameter casing to 2,178 ft. The Gisborne No. 1 well is down to a depth of 487 feet in alternating beds of soft sandstone and shale, with a 12iin. diameter casing to 465 ft.
