OFFICIAL RESUME Under date August 3 the High Commissioner for New Zealand stationed in London cabled the following resume of the. London markets: — Tallow: There is a good demand for all descriptions, and prices have advanced. Presentq uotations are:—Mutton, fine, 36s 6d a cwt; fair to good, 34s to 35s 6d; dark to dull, 31s fid to 32s 6d. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed, 35s 6d to 395; fair to good, 33s 6d to 355; dark to dull, 30s to 325. Mixed: Fair to good, 33s 6d to 355; dark to dull, 30s to 325; gut, etc., 2Ss to 31s 6d. Eggs: Smaller arrivals and market steady at the advance. Present quotations are:—English, 17s 6d to 20s a long 100; Dutch. Danish and French, 16s 6d to 18s; Belgian, 15s 3d to 16s 6d; Russian and Polish, 9s to 11s 6d. Oats: Market steady. Plate and Chilean afloat worth 25s 6d; September shipments, 25s 3d. English: On account of bad weather new crops scarce and quality unsatisfactory. Choice New White sold 30s to 31s, and old crop (also scarce) 33s to 33s 6d. Value New Zealand Gartons August-September shipments, “A” grade 32s and “B” grade 31s. Peas: Maple, market very quiet and buyers well supplied. Spot parcels of New Zealand neglected and little inquiry for shipment. Nominal value of New Zealand Partridge about 91s 6d and Tasmanian 93s 6d. Blues: Demand is limited. Forward shipments neglected. Nominal value of New Zealand, £l6 to £l7 a ton. Beans: English old crop Winter firmly held at 47s 6d to 49s 6d. Cocksfoot: Danish crops have been damaged by weather and prices have advanced. Presen'- quotations vary from 81s to BSs for September-October shipments. Hemp: Manila market steady. Pair inquiry for spot and close at hand. “J” grade afloat sold £44 to £44 10s and October-December shipments quoted £44. Sisal: Easier. No. 1 August-Oetober and October-December shipments sold at £37 10s. Buyers now offer £37. Mexican: Sales reported at £35 and down to £34. New Zealand market continues quiet and values unchanged. Wool: Bradford tops makers have advanced quotations following firm opening of Sydney sales. Present quotations are: 64’s (merino), warp, 4s 2d a lb; average, 4s Id: 56*s Csuper halfbred), 2s lid; 50’s (halfbred), 2s 3td; 40’s prepared. Is Ssd. London Wool Arrivals.
