THE PACIFIC CONFERENCE

ADDRESS TO ROTARY CLUB An interesting address on the constitution and agenda of the Honolulu conference was given by Mr. W. H. Cocker before the Rotary Club at lunch yesterday. . .. ... To study the conditions of the 1 acilic peoples, with a view to improving them relations, was the object of the Pacific Institute It had its origin in the meeting of a smali group of business men to study the problems peculiar to Honolulu. Mr. Cocker described the composition of the chief delegations at the recent conference to which he was a delegate. Every country in the Pacific was represented and soon each member found himself on quite intimate terms with everyone else. At 9 o’clock every morning the whole conference broke up into four or live round-table conferences, so that there were always at each discussion folk who had first-hand knowledlge of any subject in discussion. The work of the morning was reported in the evening to the “forum,” in which all the roundtables came together.
