YOUNG MAN FINED "You appear to be a decent young fellow, but you are heading for trouble when you take drink,” said Mr. W. Savill, J.P., at the Te Awamutu Court on Monday to a well-known young man. who "ran amok” on Saturday evening, while under the influence of drink. He assaulted a young man, who had asked him to modify his language. He admitted the charges of drunkenness and assault, and volunteered to take out a prohibition order. Convictions were recorded on both charges. For drunkenness he was fined 10s and for the assault £2. An order was made for suppression of accused’s name. The Bench said accused could consider himself fortunate in not being charged with using obscene language.
