ON THE ’CHANGE
WAIHIS IMPROVE TIMBERS QUIET The market opened this morning in good tone. With the exception of mining and woollens, there is a strong tone in the market for most shares. Government and local body bonds and debentures command little attention on a market, if anything, slightly weaker.
Waihis have improved from a sale at 19s 6d this morning to leave the noon call with buyers af 20s and sellers withdrawn to 21s.
Banks are in good tone, with firm buyers for most shares.
In the miscellaneous section Wilsons Cement continue to register a firming tendency and meet with a strong demand. Timbers are quiet, with kauris slightly weaker. SALES REGISTERED
