PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

WIN FOR OTAHUHU THIS SEASON’S COMPETITION By defeating Onehunga Convent by 19 points to nil on Saturday, the Otuhuhu School won the championship of the first League Rugby school competition held in Auckland. Richmond was runner-up. This competition has been played during the season by primary schoolboys from the following schools: —Otahuhu, Richmond, Newmarket, Fapatoetoe, Onehunga Convent and Onehunga Public School. The teams have each been in charge of a coach, and each school has a representative on the Primary Schools League Committee. The play for the championship has produced an excellent standard of football, and all the teams have shown a steady improvement.

The knock-out competition, which commences next Saturday, should produce some good football among the boys. The knock-out competition has been augmented by two additional teams, one from Newton, while Newmarket will field two teams. A and B.

The draw for the knock-out competition for Saturday, is as follows: Newmarket A v. Papatoetoe, Otahuhu v. Newton, Onehunga School v Onehunga Convent, Richmond v. Newmarket B.
