A complimentary dinner was given by the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League on Saturday to Mr. W. J. Hammill. who recently resigned from the position of chair-
Mr. C. A. Sneddon presented Mr Hammill with a gold watch, and Mrs
Shakesp ease’s works encased in eather. Mr. Snedlen said Mr. Hamnill bad devoted a reat deal of time o the game and it >uld no doubt give him great satisfaction to see the progress League - otball had made iuring his term of Mr. G. Rhodes, 1 the present chairman. also paid a tribute to Mr. Ilammill’s work on behalf of the League game. Mr. Ha mm 11 expressed thanks to the members of the Management Committee for their loyalty during his connecton wth the code and made speeal menton of the kindly thought the members had paid to Mrs. HammiH.
