FLYING SOUTH
MISSION LEADER LEAVES NO IDEAL AIRSHIP BASES Hopping off this morning, GroupCaptain P. F. M. Fellowes, chief of the British Airways Mission, flew with Captain J. L. Findiay to Wellington to survey the country to the South. Flight-Lieutenant Nixon and Major T. M. Wilkes, Director of Air Services in New Zealand, left by the express for Wellington last evening. Before leaying. Captain Fellowes said that his inspections had not revealed any ideal situations for the mooring mast nar Auckland, nor any sites as suitable as places he had seen in Australia. The future movements of the mission depend on whether the Government asks it to inspect any other localities. CAPTAIN FINDLAY’S D.H. 50 REPAIR WORK AT BLENHEIM Press Association. BLENHEIM, To-day. Repairs to the DH 50 airplane, which was badly damaged last Saturday in landing at Blenheim airdrome, have been proceeding all the week and the machine is now practically ready to take the air again Captain Buckley, who had to return to Christchurch during the week, arrived via Wellington by this morning’s ferry steamer, and will possibly take up the machine on the first of a series of short test flight* this afternoon*
