Bavin, Leader of the Nationalist Party, speaking at Willoughby, referred to the government of Sydney by the City Council He said the condition of things was one that demanded drastic remedies. The Nationalists could not permit the continuance of a state of things which made every honest man hang his head when the name of the City Council was mentioned. He stated that if the Nationalists were returned .to power, the city would be placed under a commission as a means of restoring better conditions.—A. and N.Z.
