FACETIOUS ’KEEPER.
It was a cricket match in Melbourne many years ago. The Mflh* became bad, but with both tearrs desirous of winning, neither appealed. In the half-dark a new batsman came to the wicket to take guard, whereupon the wicketkeeper, a facetious fellow, struck a match and said loudly, ‘'Excuse me, but haven’t you batted fore?”
