GOOD MEAL CHASES THE BLUES AWAY

SUICIDE ANTIDOTE MAGISTRATE’S ADVICE “TF you ever feel like committing suicide, think twice, and postpone despatch until after a good meal.” This was the advice which Mr. F. K. Hunt S.M., gave to a man, aged 56, who pleaded guilty in the Police Court

to-day to a charge of attempting to commit suicide. Mr. Hogg, who appeared for accused, said that he had been on a drinking bout and influenza had weakened his moral fibre. The magistrate, addressing accused, said: “You

think twice before you make a fool of yourself again have a good meal and think about it afterwards.” Accused was prohibited, ordered to come up for sentence when called on, and his gun licence was cancelled. The magistrate also ordered the suppression of his name.
