WESTERN KING UNLUCKY

A MINOR injury to the valuable A ustra lian-bred pacer, Western King, caused an interruption in his preparation for the forthcoming Auckland and Otahuhu fixtures. While frolicking in the paddock after his morning’s work, the son of Rock Huon—Hopefield Maid ricked a fetlock. It was attended to promptly by his trainer, and the handsome horse is making excellent progress. Western King was coming on nicely, and showing fine promise and it is unfortunate that the injury, slight as it is, should have occurred at such a time. There is perhaps some consolation to his connections in knowing that since the accident happened the weather has been again unfit for work on the tracks.
