HIS MAJESTY’S
CARTER THE GREAT Carter the Great continues to draw large attendances to His Majesty’s Theatre, and last night he was greeted with a full house. It is useless for one to endeavour to follow this master magician, and then tell afterwards how he accomplished the feats of mystery. Carter the Great baffles everyone from his card tricks to the more spectacular acts. After shooting through a lady, and cutting another in halves, and then having no bloodshed and no deaths, one must be satisfied that Carter the Great knows a little more than the average person. His every feat is carried through *with precision and neatness, the magician keeping up a running flow of talk the meanwhile. Everyone likes to be mystified, and there is no lack of it here. The act is augmented by Miss Evelyn Maxwell, whose thoughtreading turn was greatly appreciated. This lady shows remarkable skill in reading the thoughts of those in the audience. The entire show is excellent, and as there are but a few days left, no opportunity of seeing Carter the Great should be lost.
