BRITANNIA
“MAN OF THE FOREST” Jack Halt. Paramount featured player, in the title role of “Man of the Forest,” from the Zane Grey novel, is surrounded by one of the strongest casts ever assembled for an outdoor adventure film. Having convinced B. P. Schulberg, head of the West Coast Paramount Studio, by her portrayals in “The Rainmaker” and “The Great Gatsby’ that she was eligible for more important payts, Georgia Hale became Holt’s leading woman. Such widely known character actors as Warner Oland and Guy Oliver play important roles, while such comedy creators ase El Brendel and Tom Kennedy interpret the lighter phases of the story. Warner Oland is sinister Clint Beasley, who schemes to defraud the heroine of her love and a ranch. Kennedy is the sheriff in Beasley's power, and Brendel is the comic Horace Pipp. Bruce Gordon, who played the heavy opposite Jack Holt in “Born to the West,” has a part as an outlaw. John Waters directed this picture. It comes to the Britannia Theatre to-night.
