STRAND

“LONE WOLF RETURNS” The programme now being shown at the Strand Theatre is one that no one should miss. The pictorial triumph is “The Lone Wolf Returns,” the amazing sequel to the famous “Lone Wolf” stories. The phenomenal success of this feature is taxing the capacity of this theatre to the limit. This fast-moving melodrama has captivated its audiences not only by reason of the mystery atmosphere that prevails throughout and its picturesque romance between a reformed crook, but also because of the clean-cut quality of the production. The unceasing ripple of adventure threaded throughout holds the spectator at a tense tempo of interest. It is like gazing through an open door at the merging of society with a fashionable underworld element, at jewels dangled carelessly before fingers eager to possess them, at Paris creations of exquisite fabric and design, and above all characters of extraordinary reality. In support of “The Lone Wolf Returns” is the Strand Magazine, and a screamingly funny comedy. Excellent and appropriate music is played throughout the whole programme by the Strand Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Eve Bentley.
