INCREASE NOT DECREASE A month ago Thames ratepayers were i jubilant when the borough financial j department announced a reduction of ! one penny in the £ in the rates, and [ the new council came in for laudatory • comment. The jubilance was shortlived for yesterday it was discovered that a mistake had been made and instead of one penny reduction the rates have been increased by over one penny.
