PAEROA DRUIDS
PROGRESSIVE LODGE The remarkable growth of the friendly society movement is again evidenced by the progress of the Star of Paeroa Lodge, No. 18, U.A.O.D. During the past four or five years the membership has about doubled, and at last week’s meeting 10 new members were initiated with due ceremony and Druidic fire. P.D.P. Bro. J. T. Brown acted as master of ceremonies, and A.D. Bro. E. V. Slyfield, with his officers, gave a most impressive rendering of the lodge ritual. The secretary, P.D.P. Bro. W. Turner, is a tower of strength to the lodge, always “au fait” with the business of the movement, and prompt in securing and applying the benefits to members.
A coterie of enthusiastic members are now in office, and are strongly backed by many equally enthusiastic fellow-Druids. The Grand Lodge of North Island Druids is now in the very forefront of friendly societies, with a membership of over 14,000.
