TOURIST BUSINESS

VISITOR FROM AUSTRALIA BOOSTING NEW ZEALAND New Zealand’s scenic wonders are attracting Australians just as Australia’s magnificent sights are attracting New Zealanders. Mr. S. W. H. Stilling, manager of the Jenolan Caves House, New South Wales, arrived on the Aorangi yesterday to study the tourist traffic arrangements for the Dominion and also the management of the tourist resorts. As a guest of the Government Tourist Bureau Mr. Stilling will tour New Zealand, and at the conclusion of the tour he will return to Australia with a large quantity of booklets and publicity literature relating to the Dominion’s tourist attractions. Mr. Stilling said that he was very much impressed with the New Zealand Scenic film which was shown on the Aorangi during the trip across from Sydney. The Australian visitor said that recently many New Zealanders had visited the Jenolan Caves. Better hotels and improved roads were instrumental in attracting more tourists to When Mr. Stilling left all the accommodation at Mount Kosciusko was taxed to its utmost with children from the grammar schools of Victoria who were instructed in ski-ing by experts from Norway. Visitors to the mountain were transported to the hotel through the snow by motor tractors and horsesleighs. ____________
