SOUTH AUCKLAND RUGBY NOTES
By defeating Waiuku at Waiuku on Saturday the Franklin senior representatives have won the South Auckland Rugby Union’s championship, and retained the Hodges’ Shield. The Pukekolie junior representatives maintained their unbeaten record against Manukau and have carried off the Foote Shield for the fourth year in succession. The Pukekohe senior selector, Mr. S. Marshall, has selected the following players to go into training in view of the Peace Cup match against Hamilton next Saturday:—Pleydell. Dazeley, May, R. Crotty, S. Crotty, Robinson, Fraser, Golding. Fulton. Teddy, Massey, Bishop, Laing, Wood, Mayes, Lawrie. Willis, MacPherson, Brownlee and Sutherland. While playing football for Patuma-. hoe against Manukau (Oneliunga) at Patumahoe on Saturday, W. Gurney sustained a broken cheek-bone. He was removed to the Auckland Hospital.
