FRANKLIN RUGBY TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIP
The Franklin representatives played the Waiuku representatives at Waiuku on Saturday, and won by 19 points to 5 in a game that was much more evenly contested than the scores indicate. When the final quarter started Franklin had a lead of only five points, but in the final spell scored three more tries, which were due mainly to the wind rising considerably, with heavy rain which swept right in the faces of the Waiuku team, and made the handling of the ball very difficult. Revel 1 (2), Rewpha (1), Smeed (1), Baker (1) scored tries for Franklin in addition to which Revell dropped kicked a goal from the field. A. James scored a try for Waiuku, which was converted by Malloy. The Franklin team are now the winners of the-South Auckland competition.
