MR. J. A. McLEOD , President Manukau Yacht and Motor Boat Association. The Manukau Yacht and Motor Boat Club lias recently conferred upon one of its original members, J. Arthur McLeod, the honour of electing him its
president. During the 36 years the club has been in existence Mr. McLeod has been closely associated with its activities. As a true sportsman he has done his share of the manage m ent of yachting on the Manukau. F o r many years he was a member of the I
committee, and has held office as commodore for three seasons. Subsequently, he was elected a trustee. Two years ago Mr. McLeod was elected a life member, and of this recognition of his services to his club he is rightly pro Lid, for, since its foundation in 1891, there have been only six recipients of a similar honour. Genial and kindly in disposition, Mr. McLeod has always given of his best in the interests of the club he has fathered since its inception. So desirous has he been that, his sons shall become keen yachtsmen that he had them elected members in infancy, and has made them financial members for 15 years.
