WIRE FROM MINISTER INVESTIGATION PROMISED (From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, To-day. Mr. J. B. Liggins, president of the Chamber of Commerce, received the folfollowing telegram from the Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister of Public Works, yesterday, re the Mercury Bay Road, referred to in provincial news: “Have received your telegram 25th inst., regarding the action of my department in prohibiting fish lorries on the Coro-mandel-Whitianga Road. Mr. Rhodes, M.P., has already made representations to me in this connection, and the matter is being looked into urgently. I will communicate further with you shortly regarding your request for a Government maintenance grant.”
